GPD workshop 2013

Crash course on Structural Glass, 11 June 2013, Tampere, Finland

The COST Action TU0905 “Structural Glass – Novel Design Methods and Next Generation Products” has organized a full-day workshop on structural glass. The workshop was held 11 June 2013 in Tampere Finland, prior to the Glass Performance Days Conference organized by Mr Jorma Vitkala.

The workshop consisted of 7 presentations on different topics within the domain of structural glass, preceded by a short introductory presentation of the COST Action TU0905 scope and activities, see Table 1. The presentations were given by Prof Jürgen Neugebauer (FH Joanneum, AT), Dr Mauro Overend (University of Cambridge, UK) and Dr Christian Louter (EPFL, CH). In general, the Workshop aimed at providing a condensed overview of glass research in Europe and was therefore entitled “Structural Glass Crash Course”. The Workshop was attended by participants originating from engineering offices, architect offices and glass industry within Europe and United States.
