Funding is available for Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) that allow researchers to spend time at and learn from an institution or laboratory in a country other than their own. Applications from early stage researches are particularly encouraged.
STSMs can vary from one week to three months and up to six months for Early Stage Researchers. Applicants must be engaged in a research programme in an institution from a COST country which must have accepted the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of this action, and host institution should also be in a COST country which has accepted the MoU. The average contribution for a mission is a fixed grant based on the applicant’s budget request and the decision from the assessment committee. A list of countries which must have accepted the Memorandum of Understanding can be found here. A guidline for application can be found here. In order to apply, please fill in the on-line application form, and send the automatically generated pdf document to Prof. Jan Belis and Prof. Jens Schneider. Subsequently, your application will be assessed on its appropriateness and profitability for the visitor, host and the COST TU0905 Action. Finally, you will be informed whether your application was successful. Before submitting your application, please ensure that you have obtained an 'agreement in principle' from your current employer and your proposed host institution.
The following STSMs are planned/completed:
