Great success of STSMs

posted Mar 25, 2014, 3:56 AM by Marco Zaccaria

Having reached over 40 completed or ongoing Short Term Scientific Missions (i.e. on average more than ten STSMs per year!), STSMs have become one of the most powerful tools of this Action to improve direct cooperation between COST Action members of different Member States. In particular Early Stage Researchers (ESR; mostly PhD students) had a benefit from STSMs, as in about 90% of the approved STSMs the visitor was ESR.

Online Robustness Assessment Form - Glass structures

posted Nov 1, 2013, 8:42 AM by Marco Zaccaria   [ updated Nov 1, 2013, 8:46 AM ]

Task Group 9 'Learning from failures' has developed and implemented an Online Robustness Assessment Form to collect and study failure cases related to glass structures. Practitioners and academics are welcome to contribute to the survey with filling in the form about any known or unknown structural failure within the area o structural glazing and glass facades. Cases from own experience and from literature study as well are appreciated and will be handled confidentially.
The direct outcome of the survey would be a state-of-the-art report on robustness of glass structures and shared with the contributors first (if requested).
